English Menus and gameplay are in English. A semi-sequel/prequel to the highly acclaimed Metal Gear Solid (MGS), Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions puts you once again in control of the top-level FoxHound field specialist, Solid Snake. This time around, instead of fighting genetically engineered soldiers and saving the world from Metal Gear, you're in a combat simulator. Aboard the Discovery (the submarine that Solid Snake traveled upon before reaching Angel Island), you will prepare for the dangers ahead. For those that have yet to experience MGS, the gameplay is based around strategy, tactics and action.
Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions's interface and concept is similar to its predecessor, but is based on the simulator game mode that was included in MGS. This time, instead of just a few missions, you have nearly 150 different stages to play (300 including the Time Attack modes).
Fans of MGS should be able to quickly pick up on the gameplay style. In fact, not only is the gameplay recognizable by fans of the original Metal Gear Solid, each of the missions (although similarities are sometimes minute) are based on events that occurred in MGS. In addition to the various stages, there are extra bonuses for completing missions (you'll receive more options as your achievement rate increases). You can check out movies from the 1998 Tokyo Game Show (TGS) where Metal Gear Solid was first shown; take pictures of some of the cuties from MGS (Mei Ling and Naomi Hunter); and you can even play as the Ninja, (Grey Fox). Grey Fox is a character who appears late in the MGS game who could not be played, although there were many rumors surrounding a possible 'secret option' that would allow players to do so.
Manufacturer's description: SEEK AND DESTROY Take out dozens of elusive new targets like lethal hovering crystals. PLAY AS THE NINJA Rip your enemies to shreds with an entire arsenal of stealth Ninja weapons. MYSTERY MODE Try and solve complex murder mysteries before you become one. ENDLESS SWARMS OF GUARDS Take out as many guards as you can in 60 seconds or try and stop a 50 foot guard dead in his tracks OVER 300 NEW TRAINING MISSIONS Endless covert operations requiring everything from brute force to a razor sharp mind Your mission [should you choose to accept it] is to battle your way through over 300 classified operations against relentless professional killers.

Total: 2h 43m 283 MB Reviews Submitted by Rating: 5/10 MGS Rules its the best Tactical Espionage Action ever attempted to simulate. And the Music is even better i like each and every track of this game. Submitted by Guest Rating: 10/10 I agree sniper. This game, and the other MGS games are the best espoinage simulations ever. The storylines are kick ass and the game play is off the hook. The only downfall to me was the snake eater game.
The story was good in all, but it went totally out of the way we MGS lovers knew so well. And im still a little confused about Big Boss and the women, who exactly was she? Submitted by Guest Rating: 10/10 definitly awesome games, but the original MGS for playstation will always be the best, halo is really more just a go around and shoot stuff, only in multiplayer is Halo actually strategic Submitted by Guest Rating: 10/10 Ok you know about big boss right. That's snakes dad and you play him in snake eater.
The woman boss was his teacher. And for defeating her he got the name big boss. But i really want to know about the child she had. What happened to that child. Submitted by Guest Rating: 10/10 The child of The Boss is actually Ocelot. Ocelot was adopted when he was born and the only thing he remember was that his mother has a snake-like scar on her chest (The Boss has one). Submitted by Rating: 5/10 You're wrong Snake is Big Boss's clone not his son!
(my bro is an ultimate mgs nerd so i no) But i agree this is the best mgs game! (story wise) I also think that this game is actually better in Japanese than in English! Submitted by Guest Rating: 10/10 MGS is the best Tactical Espionage Action ever!!!i played this game a dozen time and it still not boring.haha Submitted by Guest Rating: 10/10 Beautifull series.
Definetlymy favourite games of all time. Plus great soundtracks to all of em. Jus bought MGS4, so il finally get the answers to all these mysteries the series created. Dunno why,, but i think the MGS music was better than the TwinSnakes.***** jsu a personal opinion nyways. 10/10 from me Submitted by Guest Rating: 5/10 Wow.
It astounds me that know one here can type correctly. Anyways, MGS had a great soundstrack. I liked the soundtracks to 2 and Portable Ops better, but this is still a great one. To Genkisan: Classic anime nerd quote. Why the hell would it be better in Japanese? You wouldn't get to listen to David Hayter's awesome voice.
