Microsoft Photodraw 2000 V2
Hey all, I'm in a spot of trouble, I'm a web designer and work largely with Microsoft Photodraw, I've managed to lose my discs in a house move, and now being prompted by Photodraw to insert the disc for authentication purposes. Microsoft don't produce Photodraw any longer, and I'm looking for a cheap place to buy a replacement. This is the offical word from Microsoft: Microsoft PhotoDraw®, including PhotoDraw 2000, has been discontinued. But you can still find detailed product information, downloads, and support options that can help you get the most out of your version of the Office business graphics program. I've looked around the M/Soft support site and it looks like they've washed they're hands of it entirely. Any recommendations.? I'm really stuck without it.
Thanks in Advance. If you all ready have some other versions of MS-Office applications installed you may be able to get away with only buying an Office 2000 Premium upgrade which may cost less to buy than a full installation of just PhotoDraw. This was an Ad found on a Google search: One bad thing about the upgrade version is if you should ever need to do a full re-installation on a reformatted HD. It will complain about not finding a previous installed Office application and refuse to install. There are work arounds that can be found if you search a bit.

Microsoft PhotoDraw 2000 was released in 1999 along with Microsoft Office 2000 Premium and Developer, but came separately on 2 CDs. It developed from the Picture It! 2.0 engine's.MIX format and expanded further into vector imaging technology.

Were you able to previously run PhotoDraw 2000 on a computer with Office 2002 installed? The reason I ask is that I upgraded a computer from Office 2000 Pro to Office 2003 a while ago.
The installer said that some Office 2000 components would no longer work with 2003 and would all be removed in order to install any of Office 2003. You may may find yourself in a similar situation with trying to install or run PhotoDraw 2000 on top of other Office 2002 applications. Some other TSG member may be able to confirm if PhotoDraw 2000 is compatible with Office 2002. Were you able to previously run PhotoDraw 2000 on a computer with Office 2002 installed? Maybe after an office update or another event, I was then and still am prompted to enter my 1st disc, The application is looking for file/files from the installation disc. It actually works in a VERY limited capacity now. If I click OK at each prompt to enter CD the application starts, but I can't save anything to JPEG - saves Bitmaps and.mix (photodrae file) and a lot of actions within the application - like paste / cut etc prompt for the disc again.
Who knows, maybe after a windows update it's just needs root files to verify. I fairly sure if I had the disc for ONE PROMPT, the probmlem would be rectified! I managed to get the Office 2000 disc pack with Photodraw bundled (over the last two cds of the bundle > so it's an older version.) I uninstalled the old corrupted version of Photodraw and tried to install the However, I'm using XP home. I can install Photodraw, and it gets to the final hurdle and the promts me that an error has occured and the program must shut down.! In the event viwer this message is archived for the crash under programs: Faulting application acmsetup.exe, version 3.1.0.1811, faulting module, version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x00000000. Here is a screenshot of the error message: I had office XP 2002, but removed it and installed Photdraw again - same error! I desperatly need Photodraw as my web graphic files are in a.mix extension and I need this application.
